Become the diver that everyone wants to follow because you know where you are and where you are going. The navigation course hones your observation techniques and teaches you to use the compass more accurately underwater. If you like challenges with big rewards, take this course and have fun finding your way.

If you are an Open Water diver who is at least 10 years old, you can enroll in the Navigation Specialty course.

In this course you will learn:

• Improve your navigation techniques
• Find the ship without surfacing
• Learn natural navigation clues
• Use a diving compass
• Navigate making multiple turns
• Estimate the distance underwater

It's easy to get disoriented underwater if you don't know how to use a compass or natural navigation clues. Learn to easily find your way back to the boat or shore without surfacing, and avoid swimming long, tiring distances. Practice using a compass on the surface, then apply the techniques underwater for two dives. Learn how to estimate distance, follow natural clues, and find your way back to the ship or shore.

Prerequisites:

* Open Water Diver (or entry-level qualifying certification)
* Total commitment time: 2-3 days
Minimum Age: 10 years or older
