Scuba Diver
The Scuba Diver course is a subcourse of the PADI Open Water Diver course. If you're short on time but really want to become a diver, the Scuba Diver level might be great for you, particularly if you expect to dive primarily with a dive guide. This course is an intermediate step towards getting an Open Water Diver certification, if that is your ultimate goal. Scuba Divers are qualified to:
- Dive under the direct supervision of a Professional to a maximum depth of 12 metres/40 feet.
 - Obtain air loads, rent or purchase scuba equipment, and participate in scuba activities as long as they are properly supervised.
 - Continue scuba training by completing Open Water Diver certification and taking certain specialty scuba courses.

To enroll in a Scuba Diver course (or Junior Scuba Diver course), you must be 10 years of age or older. You need proper swimming techniques and be in good physical health. No previous diving experience is required, but you can try the Discover Scuba Diving program first.
The Scuba Diver course consists of three main phases:
- Knowledge Development (online, independent study or in the classroom) to understand the basic principles of scuba diving – just the first three of five sections of the Open Water Diver course.
 - Confined Water Dives to learn basic scuba skills – just the first three of the five Open Water Diver course.
 - Open Water Dives to use your skills and explore – only two of the four of the open water course

Equipment:
You will learn to use basic scuba equipment, including a mask, snorkel, fins, regulator, buoyancy control device, and tank. The equipment you will use varies, depending on whether you are diving in tropical, temperate or cold water. Your PADI Instructor will explain the equipment you will need and can suggest additional training materials, such as the logbook
