Wreck dive
Whether sunk specifically as an artificial reef for divers, or lost as a result of an accident, wrecks are exciting windows into the past. Ships, planes and even cars are fascinating to explore and are often teeming with aquatic life.
Every wreck dive offers an opportunity to discover, potentially unravel a mystery or see something that others have missed. The Wreck Diver Specialty Course is popular because it offers rewarding adventures while observing responsible wreck diving practices.
If you are at least 15 years old and have earned an Adventure Diver certification or higher, you can enroll in the Wreck Diver specialty course.
In this course you will learn:
- Exploring inside wrecks
- See fascinating artifacts
- Learn special flapping techniques
- Investigate wrecks
- Use lines and reels
- Avoid common problems
How to Become a Wreck Diver
Each wreck is different. During the Wreck Diver course, you will learn to explore different types of wrecks by researching their design, history and hazards, and practice specialized wreck diving techniques.
During four dives with your instructor, you will study a wreck map, practice special finning techniques, and may use penetration lines.
Prerequisites:
* Adventure Diver (or equivalent certification)
*Total time commitment: 2-3 days (dives must be completed in a minimum of two days)
* Minimum age: 15 years or older
